Texas Direct Deposit
A choice you can bank on

Direct deposit is the fast, easy and secure way to have your checks or paychecks from the state of Texas posted directly to your bank account without the hassle of paper checks or waiting in line at the bank.

Who can use direct deposit?

Anyone who receives a payment (called a "warrant") from the state of Texas and wants to process it in the fastest, easiest and most secure way possible can participate, including:

  • State vendors providing goods and services to the state
  • State employees
  • Taxpayers with refunds
  • Others receiving any payment from any Texas state agency

Why use direct deposit?

Direct deposit is:

Funds are accessible in your bank account much sooner than the time it takes to receive traditional paper checks by mail and make a bank deposit.

Secure and Automated
Never worry again about a lost check. Direct deposits are automatic and fully traceable, and help protect you against identity theft. Sign up for Advance Payment Notification to be notified of payments headed your way.

Set it up once, and payments automatically post directly to your account.

Paper checks add 3.6 million tons of CO2 into the environment each year.
