The Comptroller's office administers the state's 529 plans and promotes local economic growth by identifying and fostering work force development initiatives across the state.

The Comptroller's goal is to give every Texan every chance to succeed through a variety of programs to help young Texans explore careers, provide tools and resources to help parents save and pay for future careers and offer all Texans a way to contribute to those higher ed dreams.

In 2015, the Texas Legislature passed House Bill 855, which requires state agencies to publish a list of the three most commonly used Web browsers on their websites. The Texas Comptroller’s most commonly used Web browsers are Microsoft Internet Explorer, Google Chrome and Apple Safari.
