April | future musician

From a young age, I have loved music with a passion. I have always wanted to have a career that had music incorporated in it. I have played piano since I was seven years old, and I have enjoyed singing my whole life.

I am particularly interested in the University of North Texas because they have a great music program. Many people have been successful coming from UNT such as, Norah Jones, Pat Boone, Bobby Fuller, Bob Dorough, Kristopher Carter, and more!

I know that not everyone will be noticed in the music industry, so I would like to have a double major in college. One major for music performance and one for another profession that I have not yet decided. I would like to take UNT's classes for voice, keyboard, and possibly guitar. After college, I will spend my time writing music, and performing. I plan to continue to learn and share my joy of music with others.

I would be extremely thankful to receive this assistance from the Texas Match the Promise Foundation to help me through college and take me beyond where I will have a future in music.

As Lao Tzu says, "Music in the soul can be heard by the universe."
