Working for the Government

Marko | future Border Patrol agent

Hi my name is Marko. When I grow up I would love to be a border patrol agent. Why?, because I enjoy helping people. To be a border patrol officer first I must obtain a bachelor's or master's degree in criminal justice and study homeland security.

There are many opportunities for this type of work in the future is me having a good job, working for the government, working with firearms, me becoming a stronger person and maybe getting an award for serving for the United States border patrol agency.

Training for border patrol is also important it requires me to stay healthy. I currently play sports and eat healthy. I enjoy playing in the outdoors especially hunting with my dad at our ranch.

Early this month my school had a carrer day and one of the stations was named "Border Patrol" so I listened to what the requirements are, their salaries and what they liked best about their jobs. An average starting pay in Texas had an initial annual salary of $38,619 in U.S. dollars. The man at the Station said he loves the fact he gets to work with firearms and the excitement.

Did you know that the Border Patrol Agency is one of our nations largest border security agencies? They protect the american people from terrorism, human and drug smuggling, and illegal migration. More than 20,000 border patrol agents protect our way of living 24/7. Well now you know. (You're welcome). And that's why I want to be a border patrol agent. Also I appreciate the help from you all. Thank you very much!
