Revised Texas Franchise Tax Webinars
March/April 2009

Taxpayers and practitioners are invited to participate in two upcoming webinars hosted by the State Comptroller's office on Tuesday, March 31 and Tuesday, April 28.

Participants must register in advance. Registration is limited to 1,000.

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) is available upon request. Each participant must be registered and logged into to the webinar to get the credit. Continuing Legal Education (CLE) will not be provided.

Note: Audio portion of webinars is now available through VoIP.

Upon conclusion of the webinar, you will be directed to contact one of our staff members at webinar.credit@cpa.state.tx.us. That person will forward a short test to you for completion. Once we receive the completed test and verify that the participant was logged into the webinar, a CPE certificate will be emailed back to the participant.

Course Description

Franchise Tax Filing Update 2009

This session will explore misconceptions, misunderstandings, and miscalculations that were experienced during the 2008 filing season. What were the most frequent errors or omissions, flaws and faux pas, glitches and goofs? What will make your 2009 filing more successful?

System Requirements

PC-based attendees

  • Internet Explorer® 6.0 or newer, Mozilla® Firefox® 2.0 or newer (JavaScriptTM and JavaTM enabled)
  • Windows® 2000, XP, 2003 Server or Vista
  • Cable modem, DSL or better Internet connection
  • Minimum of Pentium® class 1GHz CPU with 512 MB of RAM (Recommended) (2 GB of RAM for Windows® Vista)

Macintosh®-based attendees

  • Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger®) or newer
  • Safari 3.0 or newer, Firefox 2.0 or newer (JavaScriptTM and JavaTM enabled)
  • Cable modem, DSL or better Internet connection
  • Power PC G4/G5 or Intel processor (521 MB of RAM or better recommended)

Participants wishing to connect to audio using VoIP will need a fast Internet connection, a microphone and speakers (a USB headset is recommended).
