This is a loan and must be repaid. Available for graduate or for professional students enrolled at least half-time, or for the parent (biological, adoptive, or in some cases, stepparent) of a dependent undergraduate student enrolled at least half-time at an eligible school. Financial need is NOT required. Must not have adverse credit history and must meet the general eligibility requirements for federal student aid. If a parent borrows on behalf of a child, the child must also meet these requirements. The borrower is responsible for paying ALL interest on this Unsubsidized loan, starting on the date the loan is first disbursed. Direct Consolidation Loan This is a loan and must be repaid. Allows student or parent borrower to combine all eligible federal student education loans into a single loan with a single monthly payment.
