Training and Certification – Class Information


Class Information and Policies

  • Registration: Registration for training courses is available online. After registering online, students will receive with an e-mail confirmation/invoice. Students must forward the e-mail confirmation and invoice to their fiscal department for SPD to receive course payment. Only students with confirmed registrations will be admitted to class.
  • Cancellations: If you are unable to attend the class, cancellation requests must be submitted through the online registration system to open up your seat Cancellations must be submitted at least five (5) business days prior to the class start date to receive refund of the class registration fee. The full cost of the class will be charged if the cancellation requests are not received within the above requirements. CPA reserves the right to assess a $25 registration processing fee for repeated cancellations.
  • Substitutions: Participant registrations may be substituted for other employees using the online registration system at any time prior to the first day of class. Class registrations may be substituted for another date if submitted at least five (5) business days prior to the first day of class. Only same class substitutions are allowed. A fee may be required for multiple or frequent changes.
  • Refund Policy: You will receive a full refund of your registration fee if SPD receives your online cancellation notice at least five (5) business days prior to class start date. We cannot offer partial refunds or split registrations. We are not responsible for any expenses incurred before you receive a confirmation of your registration. A $50 cancellation fee will be deducted from your refund.
  • Schedule: Class will begin promptly at the times posted. We suggest you arrive a few minutes early.
  • Materials: Please bring a pen and paper, or something to write on, to all classes. Your class workbooks will be sent via email.
  • Phones: Please set your cell phones on silent operation and if you must make a call.
  • Computer Wifi access: Wi-Fi access is provided for all students in attendance at the Thompson Conference Center and UT Commons Learning Center (JJ Pickle).
  • Parking: Please see your class email for specific parking instructions for your class location.
  • Food: Refreshments will not be provided in class.
  • Lodging: Lodging information can be found on the State Travel Management Program Hotel Directory website. Contact your agency's travel coordinator for more information.
  • ADA Accommodations: Every reasonable accommodation will be made for persons with special needs in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. Adequate advance notice is required. Any additional costs will be at the expense of the Student's agency.
  • Tardy or Class (Arrive Late/Leave Early): You must be in class for all class hours to receive a full certificate of completion. Situations with extenuating circumstances that contribute to late arrival or early departure will be evaluated by the Program Supervisor on a case by case basis.
