There are a number of programs that provide grants and incentives for specific purposes.
- Rural Law Enforcement Grants (SB 22)
This program provides financial assistance to sheriff’s departments, constable’s offices and district and county attorney’s offices in eligible counties to ensure professional law enforcement and legal representation of the people’s interests throughout the state.

The Broadband Development Office
To streamline broadband expansion across the state and allow every Texan to provide feedback about connectivity needs, the Broadband Development Office (BDO) established a robust external engagement process that fosters collaboration with local, regional and tribal entities.

Health Resources & Services Administration
The Health Resources & Services Administration makes grants to organizations to improve and expand health care services for underserved people in a variety of different areas including rural health programs.
Rural Health Information Hub
The Rural Health Information Hub is a product of the Federal Office of Rural Health Policy whose goal is to help rural communities and other rural stakeholders access the full range of available programs, funding, and research that can enable them to provide quality health and human services to rural residents.
Texas Department of Agriculture Grants and Services
The Texas Department of Agriculture Grants and Services compiles a variety of programs and funds to help enhance farms, rural business development, help establish permanent jobs, and the production of agriculture.

Municipalities and counties are authorized to offer loans and grants of public money to promote state or local economic development and to stimulate, encourage and develop business locations and commercial activity
- Public Improvement Districts (PIDs)

A PID allows property owners in an area to establish a funding source to pay for new or improved services or infrastructure.

These districts are created within existing commercial areas to finance facilities, infrastructure and services beyond those provided by property owners or municipalities.
