I want to be a veterinarian when I grow up, because I love animals. A veterinarian is a person who is trained to give medical care to animals. Tending to and take care of pets is fun. Animals can feel when you are sad, happy, excited, or mad.
Veterinarians are important because they take care of animals and maybe help the pet's environment. To become a veterinarian a person needs to first complete college and then complete four years of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and then a state license.
More and more people are moving to Texas to live. They bring their pets. With more pets in Texas there will be need for more veterinarians.
To help me realize my dream I have done three things. First, my friend and I started our own dog walking business called "Walk in the Park". Second, every Wednesday this past summer I volunteer at the animal shelter and walk two dogs. Third, I asked my cat's vet when I could start as a volunteer at his office. He said I have to wait until I am fourteen.
Until I am fourteen, I plan to read more books on animals and vegetarians and do research on the internet. Also, this summer I will again be volunteering at the animals shelter.
