You need Texas taxpayer ID numbers and WebFile number(s) for each taxpayer account.
Your WebFile number is your "access code" to WebFile issued by the Comptroller's office. It is printed in the upper left corner of the tax report we mail to each taxpayer and on most notices. It is two letters followed by six numbers (Example: RT666666).
If you do not have your WebFile number, you can contact us at (800) 442-3453 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This automated system can provide a WebFile number if you can provide confidential information from a previously filed report. You can request a duplicate report via this automated system if you cannot provide the confidential information.

Step 1: Select First-time User? Sign up
In 2015, the Texas Legislature passed House Bill 855, which requires state agencies to publish a list of the three most commonly used Web browsers on their websites. The Texas Comptroller’s most commonly used Web browsers are Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Apple Safari.
User ID: Your User ID must be 7-25 characters – letters and numbers – no spaces or special characters. The User ID is not case sensitive.
Enter your ID in the space provided and select Check Availability.
If you receive the message The desired User ID is available. continue with the rest of the form.
If you receive the message User ID is already being used, you can enter one of the alternate suggestions or choose a completely new ID.
Email Address: Enter your email address.
If you receive the message Email Address is already registered with a User ID. Select Cancel on this page, then select the "I forgot my User ID" function., that means there is already an account using that email address.
By selecting I forgot my User ID and following the instructions, you can retrieve the user ID for that account.
If you are sure your email address is correct and you have never created an eSystems account in the past, call us at 800-442-3453.
Re-enter Email Address: Enter your email address again, exactly as you entered it the first time.
First Name: Enter your first name.
Middle Initial: Enter your middle initial. (optional)
Last Name: Enter your last name.
Daytime Telephone: Enter your telephone number, area code first and extension if necessary.
Enter Password: Create a password for your account.
Your password must:
Confirm Password: Enter your password again, exactly as you entered it the first time.
Select Continue to proceed to Step 2.
Security Question and Answer: Select a Security Question from the drop down list and type the answer in the box provided.
Refer to the Security Tips on the page for help.
The answer is not case sensitive.
Selecting Cancel will exit the system and your account is will not be created.
Your profile has been created successfully.
Once you have created your account, you must gain access to the taxes/fees you wish to file and/or pay with WebFile.
You only have to do this once for each tax/fee and taxpayer.
Select Add WebFile Access and enter an 11-digit taxpayer number (no dashes or spaces) to file/pay taxes and fees for that taxpayer.
To file and/or pay taxes or fees using WebFile, you need a Personal Identification Code (WebFile number). This number will be printed on returns and notices you receive from us in the mail.
Your Personal Identification Code (WebFile number) will be one of the following:
More than one person can log in and access taxpayer accounts by providing the Personal Identification Code (WebFile number) for authentication to access the account.

Read the Terms and Conditions carefully.
By checking I Agree and selecting Continue, the account holder is agreeing to the terms and conditions of use.
Account Holder is a reference to the specific User Identification assigned to this account and specific tax or fee. This is not referring to management within your company such as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
You can now use WebFile to file and/or pay taxes and fees with this account.
Manage Profile: Select one of these options to update your user profile, change your security question, change your password or return to the eSystems menu.
