The Hotel Data Search tool provides hotel tax information as reported by hotels.
You can search and sort hotels by the number of rooms and self-reported location inside or outside city limits using the Quick Search. Click the column headers to sort the results by hotel name, city, county, state, capacity, total receipts or taxable receipts. The Advanced Search provides complete statewide information for the past 10 years.
To learn more about this tax, you can visit the Comptroller’s Texas Hotel Occupancy Tax page.
The monthly search includes data from hotels that file monthly hotel tax reports. The quarterly search includes data from hotels that file monthly or quarterly hotel tax reports. The searches are updated about a month after the due date, which is the 20th day of the month following the end of each reporting period. Data from hotel reports that are filed or amended after this date will not be available until the next update.
We confirm the room capacity and if a hotel is inside or outside city limits on a case-by-case basis when needed for state tax purposes.
