Currently, applicants use NEOGOV to apply for jobs that are published in the Texas Comptroller of Public Account's (CPA's) Career Center and through GovernmentJobs.com. We'll soon transition to a new way of posting jobs and receiving applications online: CAPPS Recruit. These FAQs address the transition to the new system.
We will accept state applications through NEOGOV/GovernmentJobs.com through Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. All postings will close on NEOGOV/GovernmentJobs.com after that time.
NEOGOV/GovernmentJobs.com will continue to maintain state application(s). CPA jobs will stop being advertised on NEOGOV starting June 28, 2017. The link to NEOGOV/GovernmentJobs.com in CPA's Career Center will be disabled on June 28, 2017.
All active postings will close in NEOGOV/GovernmentJobs.com on June 27, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. The hiring division will determine whether it has a sufficient applicant pool of qualified candidates to begin the hiring process. If not, the hiring division will cancel the posting and Human Resources will notify all applicants by email.
You can register through CAPPS Recruit to put an application on file. On June 30, 2017, Human Resources will begin posting CPA's jobs and accepting state applications.
Yes, registration in CAPPS Recruit is recommended and preferable to apply for CPA postings.
If you have registered using NEOGOV's Job Interest Card to be notified of CPA's postings, your registration will be deactivated on June 27, 2017, at 11:59 p.m. Beginning June 30, 2017, you'll need to register in CAPPS Recruit, complete a profile and state application, and go to Preferences and identify the job classifications and locations for which you wish to be notified. Additionally, go to Profile, My Account, and select Yes under Correspondence.
All public CPA postings appear on Work In Texas. Your Work In Texas Job Search criteria and requirements determine whether you receive an email notification from Work In Texas about CPA's postings.
CPA will accept Work In Texas online applications.
NOTE: To determine qualifications, CPA job postings require responses to supplemental questions. Work In Texas online applications that exclude responses for CPA's supplemental questions may be considered incomplete and may not be processed for consideration. You can respond to CPA's supplemental questions in CAPPS Recruit, the preferred online application method.
To view CPA's job postings on CAPPS Recruit, go to https://capps.taleo.net/careersection/ex/jobsearch.ftl?lang=en. CPA postings will be available on CAPPS Recruit beginning June 30, 2017.
