Our teams in regional investigations operate through field offices that deliver localized compliance, enforcement, and investigative support across the state. What We Investigate

Cigarette/tobacco tax fraud

Selling unstamped cigarettes, falsifying documents, or possessing untaxed tobacco.

E-Cigarette and vape violations

Selling or offering for sale e-cigarette products without a retailer permit or with prohibited packaging or advertising.

Motor fuels tax fraud:

Failure to remit motor fuels taxes due, committing fuel theft, or operating without a required license.

Motor vehicle sales tax fraud

Failure to remit collected taxes or falsifying title documents.

Coin-operated machine violations

Operating game rooms or coin-operated amusement machines without the license and decal requirements as detailed in the Occupation Code.
