Opportunity Zone

The Opportunity Zone program, established in 2017 and administered by the U.S. Department of Treasury, has been updated and made permanent through legislation passed by Congress in 2025. The renewed Opportunity Zone 2.0 (OZ 2.0) program will take effect on Jan. 1, 2027, and will be in effect until 2036.

The current Opportunity Zone 1.0, known as “OZ 1.0,” will be sunsetting on Dec. 31, 2028.
