Change User Profile

You user profile contains your user ID, name, email address and phone number. You must keep your information confidential and current. Current information will enable the Comptroller’s office to provide you with better customer service.

  1. Select User Profile to update your profile information.
  2. Enter your password and select Continue.
  3. Edit the appropriate field and select Update.
  4. If there are no changes needed, select Cancel and the profile will remain unchanged.

Selecting a User ID

Your user ID:

  • must be 7-25 characters, letters and/or numbers
  • is not case-sensitive
  • must be unique

As of December 2015, user IDs are not case-sensitive and they can no longer contain any spaces, punctuation marks, or special characters.

If your user ID has any of these invalid characters, or if it is no longer unique, you will be prompted to update it upon logging in.

Select Check Availability to determine if your user ID is available.

Error?

If the user ID is in use, you will receive an error message The User ID is already being used. and the system will suggest alternatives.

Choose one of the alternatives or try something different.

Change Security Question

Answering the security question is required for recovering your user ID or resetting you password.

  1. Select Change Security Question.
  2. Enter your password and select Continue.
  3. Select from the questions provided and choose an answer you can remember:
    • Your answer must be 5-40 characters.
    • Avoid entering personal information that is publicly available.
    • The answer is not case sensitive.
  4. Select Update to save your changes.

Change Your Password

If you are already logged in, you will be asked to enter your current password.

Enter a new password.

Review password requirements

Your password must:

  • be 8-50 characters long
  • contain at least one uppercase letter
  • contain at least one lowercase letter
  • contain at least one number
  • contain at least one non-alphanumeric character, such as:
    - . ! # $ & / ( ) * + , : ; ? @ _ [ ] { } | ~

Re-enter your new password and select Update to save your changes.

Error?

If you see Error - Password does not match Confirm Password, try again.

If you see Error - Password is not 8 characters, select another password that is between 8 and 50 characters long.

If you see Error - Password must contain at least one character from each of the following categories: upper case letters, lower case letters, numbers, and special characters (- . ! # $ & / ( ) * + , : ; ? @ _ [ ] { } | ~), select another password that meets the criteria.
