Infrastructure and Investment Jobs Act

The 2021 Infrastructure and Investment Jobs Act (IIJA) supports state organizations and their push toward energy efficiency, sustainability and workforce development. More than $30 million in funding will help support multiple programs the State Energy Conservation Office (SECO) administers, with the intent to reduce carbon emissions in all sectors of the economy. SECO provides opportunities for public school districts, rural and community hospitals, local governments, community colleges and tribal governments to apply for funding to support retrofit projects and efficiency upgrades. In 2024, SECO launched the following programs:

  • Public ISD LED Lighting Retrofits Reimbursable Grant Program.
  • Rural and Community Hospitals LED Lighting Retrofits Reimbursable Grant Program.
  • Energy Sector Training Centers (ESTC) Reimbursable Grant Program.
  • Energy Efficiency Community Block Grant (EECBG) Program.

Eligibility requirements differ for each program and will be available when funding opportunities are posted.
