Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program

The Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant Program is designed to assist states, local governments and Tribes in implementing strategies to reduce energy use, to reduce fossil fuel emissions and to improve energy efficiency. Eligible municipally-owned buildings include government-owned public meeting areas such as activity centers, recreational facilities, pavilions, parks, libraries and event centers that serve as emergency shelters during disasters. Allowable improvements include one or more of the following items: Installation of insulation, replacing interior and exterior lighting fixtures with high-efficiency LED lighting systems to improve efficiency, weather sealing, and/or retrofit and replacement of windows and doors.

Solicitation Details

  • Reimbursable grant funding size available is $4,371,539.
  • Maximum funding amount shall not exceed $250,000 per successful application.
  • All proceeds must be expended by Aug. 31, 2025.
