Comptroller’s Office Recognized for New Website Featuring Enhanced Online Services and Functionality

(AUSTIN) — The Texas Comptroller's office was honored for its work in rebuilding the agency's website at an award ceremony today recognizing excellence in digital government.

The agency was among the winners in the 2017 Best of Texas Awards, presented at the Center for Digital Government's annual Texas Digital Government Summit.

Launched in September 2016, the newly redesigned Comptroller.Texas.Gov won best application for serving the public, awarded to individuals and teams that have designed, developed and deployed applications or improved existing applications that deliver services more effectively to the public or other external stakeholders.

"I'm proud of the entire team that contributed to the launch of our agency website," Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said. "Thousands of Texans — and those interested in Texas — are finding the rebuilt Comptroller.Texas.Gov makes it easier to file and pay taxes, find unclaimed property, research documents through our transparency portal and read newsletters and special reports."

The Center for Digital Government is a national research and advisory institute focused on technology policy and best practices in state and local government.

Now in its 16th year, the Best of Texas Awards program recognizes public-sector professionals and local government organizations for their contributions to the advancement of information technology in Texas. Winners are selected based on a number of criteria, including collaboration among agencies, innovative uses of technology, economic benefits and improvements in public services and business processes.
