The Texas Broadband Development Office (BDO) is developing the Texas Digital Opportunity Plan, which will serve as a roadmap for expanding the availability of reliable and affordable broadband, device access, digital skills training and cybersecurity awareness to promote digital opportunities for all Texans.
The BDO developed the Texas Digital Opportunity Public Survey to identify the digital opportunity barriers affecting Texas households, such as the lack of infrastructure, digital literacy, affordable service and access to devices. The survey was available in English, Spanish, Vietnamese and Mandarin. PDF versions in English and Spanish were also available. We are currently analyzing the data received, and a summary of the feedback will be posted here shortly.
The BDO also sought input from organizations about existing digital opportunity programs throughout Texas to develop a comprehensive understanding of how organizations are supporting broadband accessibility, affordability and adoption. A summary of the data received will be posted here shortly.
