Cookies, Cakes, and Breads, Oh My!

Angelica | future baker

Yummy! I love it all, and you probably do too. Not only do I love the taste, but I love baking it! When I get a job, I'm interested in being a baker. One of the reasons I am so interested in this job is because of the fact that there are so many combinations of flavors and things you can make and put together. When I bake it makes me feel happy, and then, when I'm done with it all, I get to give all away and that makes the people I give it to happy, which makes me even happier.

To be a baker, you need to understand food safety and how to be safe when you're baking, for example, washing your hands and knowing how to not burn yourself. Important skills that you should have to be a baker are; you should detail oriented, so that your pieces works can not only taste good, but look good, you should also know how much of this and that to put in to the recipe. If you're looking to be a baker, you should probably start by being an apprentice so that you can get the experience before you jump right in.

Some opportunities that this career offers you are; you could make it big like, Duff Goldman. He bakes and decorates cakes for a living and he's gotten his own television show on The Food Network. You also get to experience the joy of seeing others enjoy the food.

The steps I took to learn about baking were practicing, learning as I go, and by turning my mistakes into something that can help me. I love baking, and I'm interested in that being my future career.
