Lexie | future dancer and designer

I have thought about becoming many things, like a detective or therapist, but I really want to be a dancer and a designer. A designer would be so much fun, but I can't get off the dance floor!

I think I should be both! If I was both, I would have to work really hard. I might even have to go to two schools. If I went to University of Texas, I would have to the opportunity to attend an amazing dance program. If I went to Parsons Fashion School, I would become the new popular designer!

To achieve those goals, I have been dancing in dance competitions since I was 4 years old. I currently study ballet, jazz, contemporary, and urban styles of dance every day for 2 hours. I attend many competitions throughout the year with my dance studio. I attend many design and art camps throughout the year and even a fashion week camp. I have been asked many times to model for fashion shows, which I really enjoy. I also love to design bracelets on a loom and with a crochet hook. I design clothes on paper and on fabric.

The tuition at the University of Texas for dance is $10,000 a year for training, programs, and classes. Parsons Fashion School is $20,000 a year for classes, training, and education. I know I would need to apply for scholarships in addition to the money that my family is already saving for school. I would appreciate so much being considered for a scholarship from Match the Promise.
