The Chemical Engineer

Tristan | future chemical engineer

Out of all the great jobs available, I believe that a chemical engineer would best fit me. Chemical engineers use chemistry and math to solve problems that are related to chemicals, food, and drugs. I like this because I have always enjoyed the idea of working with chemicals to create somthing new. I learned about this career in a engineering class project where I had to research a type of engineer. Another reason I want to be a chemical engineer is because of the salary of $96,940 annually. That's higher than the average of most engineering jobs. The employment of chemical engineers is expected to increase by 2%. Chemical engineers work in laboratories, offices, and spend time in industrial plants and refineries. Education requirements for entry-level positions is a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and one may also receive additional training from more experienced engineers. Certain skills are useful when It comes to working as a chemical engineer: creativity, to think of new ways to explore chemical engineering, math skills because chemical engineers use calculus to solve problems, and finally, problem solving skills to create new equipment in order to solve the problems of chemical engineering. Chemical engineers do many cool things, and that's what I have decided I am going to be.
