The Artist’s Touch

Zaiden | future artist

When I grow up I want to be an artist. I want to be an artist because art can TOUCH people. Art can make you feel happy inside. Painting puts me in a relaxed state. Art is a way to express myself. And, through this I get to reach people I know and love and people I never met.

Right now I enjoy painting. I know from my research online that there are many schools that provide great studies on modern art. I can study painting and the history of it. And, I can learn both in schools here in the states and overseas. Modern art is what peeks my interest at this time. I think it is in my blood. My mom who passed away when I was six was an artist. I have always expressed my grief through art. I do not burry my head under a pillow and cry, I pick up my brush and touch the paper.

I think that as an artist I need to be trained. I love to express myself now through passion and paint, but to be educated at a university can help me grow my skills and then reach and touch others through my art. I would like to also study art therapy so that I can help other children who go through loss just as I have.

I was touched by an artist as a baby. I was held and rocked by an artist. I was fed and nurtured by an artist. And now being raised by just my dad I have learned how the artist touch lasts much longer than the artist does. I hope that studying and learning how to reach others through my work can last lifetimes.
