Pawtential to be a Vet

Eliza – future veterinarian

"Real Doctors treat more than one species." When I grow up I want to be a veterinarian. Vets take care of animals and treat pets when they are sick.

First, to become a vet, you need a veterinary medicine degree. It takes four years to get a degree like that. Most students get a bachelor's degree then on top of that, they have the veterinary medicine degree.

Currently, the opportunities in veterinary medicine reaches about 78,300. There's got to be at least one job near me!

Next, last year we had a career fair and I got the opportunity to research veterinary medicine. I know that it takes a lot of work to become a vet, so you have to go through with your decision.

The first reason I want to be a vet is I simply love animals. I love to pet them, take care of them, and of course play with them! Whenever I see an animal at the pet store, I can't help but fall in love with it!

In addition, I love to take care of animals. When one of my pets are sick, I always take them to the vet.

Finally, I like to help people and their animals. I hate the ASPCA commercials on TV when they show you pictures of freezing and abused animals. I always want to swoop in and take care of them!

In conclusion, I want to be a veterinarian when I grow up. I would definitley take care of more than one species.
