Amazing Architecture

Alexander – future architect

An F5 earthquake had just struck China in a densely populated region. I got a call stating I needed to fly over there immediately to design new structures that could resist future natural disasters.

Once I arrived I witnessed "nothing". There was nothing left. Lots of people were homeless and scared. I knew I needed to help.

About a year later another earthquake struck. Thanks to the new buildings that I designed, thousands of lives were saved. It is thoughts like these that persuade me more and more to be an architect.

I have loved architecture ever since I was five. I love to design and build blanket and pillow forts, but of course, just like regular buildings, my forts had [to] be approved by building inspectors, aka my parents.

In order to become an architect, I would need to go to an architecture school like the Academy of Art School of Architecture or Auburn College of Architecture, Design and Construction. These are the top architecture schools in the United States, but there are many more.

Not only does an architect have to have a professional degree and a state license, but a certification in an area of practice would help an architect stand out.

Architecture can be an amazing thing and reflects culture and diversity. Being an architect would pay well, with an average base pay of $78,755 per year.

Architects help create buildings and achieve a personal level of satisfaction. Over all, being an architect would be an awesome job to have. You could walk by a building and think "Hey, I designed that." How many people get to say that? Not many and that’s why being an architect would be very cool, very fulfilling and also a very helpful profession.
