Sarah – future architect

Hi! My name is Sarah. I have tons of fun drawing, reading, and creating. I’ve always been curious about how buildings stand up and look so pretty (some of them anyway). I think my curiosity and talent would be best used if I became an architect.

Everyday people look out the window and admire the houses on their street or the extremely tall buildings in the city. I often wonder what it took for these buildings to stand tall and proud; and then I think how amazing it would be to become an architect and build those buildings and houses. I would like to design many buildings for diffrent companies around the world. Then I still stand proud next to my creation.

To become a successful architect in the great State of Texas, I’ll have to hit the books hard! Architects go through an extensive education program that includes: a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, on the job experience, and finally, pass the Architectural Registration Exam (ARE).

Researching how to become an architect was fun! I went to several websites where I learned lots of cool things like the different types of architects, and the training they undergo. But even more fun was the interview I did on my next door neighbor, Mr. Matthew King. He has been an architect for 22 years! Mr. King said the University of Texas at Arlington is a school with an awesome Architecture program. Mr. King said a successful architect should be very organized, like drawing, and be good at communicating with others.

In conclusion, I believe I can be a successful architect because I love drawing, creating, and making new friends.
