The Office of Vehicle Fleet Management (OVFM) is responsible for the creation and regular updating of several publications key to the efficient and managed stewardship of state fleet resources. The OVFM develops the State of the Fleet Report which summarizes and analyzes state fleet data provided by state agencies and institutions of higher education.
House Bill 3388 exempted four agencies from their reporting requirements to the Texas Fleet System. The exempted agencies are the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ), Texas Department of Public Safety (TxDPS) and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department(TPWD). The Office of Vehicle Fleet Management has not reviewed the data from the exempted agencies and is not responsible for the data’s accuracy. Any questions regarding the data presented below should be directed to the agency in question.
Updated under the guidance of the Comptroller's Statewide Procurement Division and with assistance from the departments of transportation, public safety, health and human services, parks and wildlife, and criminal justice, along with the University of Texas, and Texas A&M University, the plan provides information pertaining to fleet use, composition, maintenance, and reporting.
State agency and university fleet managers may use the OVFM website for training employees on the use of TxFS.
