Refund Requests or Credit Transfers Resulting from Amended Reports Filed for Reduced Tax Rates on High Cost Gas Wells

A refund request letter, or credit transfer Form 10-147 (PDF) and amended reports creating the tax credits on approved high-cost gas wells, must be submitted electronically or mailed to the Crude Oil and Natural Gas Tax Section of the Comptroller's Account Maintenance Division in Austin, Texas. The mailing address and telephone number are available online.

In addition to the refund request letter or credit transfer Form 10-147, the following documents must be submitted:

  1. Limited Power of Attorney Form 10-341 (PDF), if applicable;
  2. Assignment of Right to Refund Form 00-985 (PDF), if applicable; and
  3. Summary schedule of the tax credit amounts generated by amended reports filed, as shown in the example below.
