About AllianceTexas

AllianceTexas is one of Texas' two intermodal logistics facilities connecting air, ground and rail, allowing businesses to take advantage of trade via all three modes of transportation. The hub is one of Texas’ two intermodal logistics facilities connecting air, ground and rail, allowing businesses to take advantage of trade via all three modes of transportation.

Located on Fort Worth’s north side, AllianceTexas began in 1989 with the world’s first industrial airport. Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport #625F5Ais the only non-passenger airport that ranks among the top 20 U.S. airports in cargo operations.

AllianceTexas had trade value growth of 550.7 percent in 2024 from 2016.

Growing Strong

AllianceTexas’ layout, location and structure differ somewhat from typical ports in our state, providing:

  • 9,600 acres, as part of a larger 27,000-acre, master-planned, mixed-use development
  • More than 500-acre multifaceted rail facility (owned and operated by BNSF) with direct access to West Coast ports.
  • Two runways, each at 11,000 feet in length, capable of handling large cargo aircraft.
  • Direct access to State Highway 114 and Farm to Market 156

Intermodal Logistics Facility

AllianceTexas is one of Texas’ two intermodal facilities, making it different from traditional ports. Here’s how it works:

  1. Parts come into port via air, rail or truck.
  2. Parts are assembled at port facilities into larger components.
  3. Components head to their next destination via air, rail or truck.

The BNSF Railway Alliance Hub operates three unique facilities:

  • Intermodal transport for the handling of containers.
  • Classification yard for classifying and grouping railcars according to movement requirements.
  • Finished vehicle transport for automobile manufacturers.
