    Applicant must be resident of Texas and a child, grandchild or great-
    grandchild of a veteran who served in WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam, 
    Lebanon, Grenada, Panama or the Persian Gulf during eligibility dates 
    for membership in the American Legion.  Eligibility is based upon 
    actual need, goals, objectives, character, citizenship, and war service 
    of father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, great-grandfather or 
    great-grandmother.  Scholarships are not limited to students in their
    senior year of high school.  Anyone meeting eligibility requirements 
    may apply.  Application form for the $500 scholarships must be obtained 
    from the Auxiliary Unit in the community in which the applicant
