Tuition Equalization Grant (TEG)


    Available to eligible students with financial need, who are enrolled at 
    a private non-profit Texas college or university and are required to 
    pay more tuition than they would pay to attend a public institution.  

    Additional Eligibility requirements: 
    - Be classified by the institution as a Texas resident
    - Be enrolled at least 3/4 time in an eligible institution in Texas in
      a degree plan leading to a first associate, baccalaureate, master's 
      or doctoral degree (excluding degree plans that are intended to lead 
      to religious ministry)
    - Meet all academic program requirements
    - Have financial need
    - Not have earned a degree for which they are currently enrolled
    - Not be a recipient of an athletic scholarship (i.e., the student is 
      obliged to play an intercollegiate sport as a result of receiving
      the scholarship) during the semester (s) TEG is awarded. 
    - May be required to pay more tuition than is required at a comparable 
      public institution
    - Be registered for Selective Service or be exempt

    private or independent institution, please contact the Financial Aid 
    Office at the institution where you are enrolled or plan to enroll.

    Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and 
    contact the financial aid office at your college or university for more 
    information.
