Available to eligible students with financial need, who are enrolled at a private non-profit Texas college or university and are required to pay more tuition than they would pay to attend a public institution. Additional Eligibility requirements: - Be classified by the institution as a Texas resident - Be enrolled at least 3/4 time in an eligible institution in Texas in a degree plan leading to a first associate, baccalaureate, master's or doctoral degree (excluding degree plans that are intended to lead to religious ministry) - Meet all academic program requirements - Have financial need, as determined by institution - May be required to pay more tuition than is required at a comparable public institution - Are not receiving athletic scholarships - Be registered for Selective Service or be exempt For the 2020-2021 academic year, an eligible student may receive an award in the amount of $3,420 to $5,130 per year. In 2015, the Texas Legislature passed House Bill 855, which requires state agencies to publish a list of the three most commonly used Web browsers on their websites. The Texas Comptroller’s most commonly used Web browsers are Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Apple Safari.
