    Applicants must be entering freshmen of an undergraduate program 
    leading to a bachelor's degree at a Catholic college or Catholic 
    University in the United States.  Applicant must be a member in good
    standing of the Knights of Columbus, or the son or daughter of a member 
    or deceased member of the Knights of Columbus or a member in good 
    standing of the Columbia Squires (not limited to Fourth Degree 
    members).  Scholarships of $1,000 begin with the freshman year and 
    are renewable each year for four years, pending satisfactory academic 
    performance.  The number of scholarships awarded is determined by the 
    earnings of the scholarship fund.  Selection is based on academic 
    excellence including a review of secondary school record, essay, and 
    the results of SAT or ACT test scores.
