This report is a comparative summary that analyzes gross sales geographically from a recent quarter to the same quarter in the prior year. In addition to comparing gross sales, the report includes the number of reporting outlets, use tax purchases and amount subject to state sales tax. The data in this report were submitted by taxpayers on their sales tax returns.
State Sales and Use Tax, by industry and area of the state (represented by metropolitan statistical area, or (MSA)), are available using this tool. Data can be viewed in these categories: all industries by county, state or country; retail trade sector by county, state or country; all industries by MSA; retail trade by MSA; and all taxpayers by industry.
In 2015, the Texas Legislature passed House Bill 855, which requires state agencies to publish a list of the three most commonly used Web browsers on their websites. The Texas Comptroller’s most commonly used Web browsers are Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Apple Safari.
